Within this post is a WIP of one of my larger builds "Aquaticus". It is not the most sophisticated of my builds but so far it has been one of the most enjoyable bases to play from.
The entry bridge is still not complete with no side rails or supports for aesthetic value. As you can see there are wharfs extending out from the water level tier of the paths. The towers around the upper tier are actually housing my S+ hives that feed my crops (hidden in the central hub) and plantx defences around the base.
I have the entrance made up Mad Max style. Above the base hangs the UFO designed for smaller fliers on the inside and large on the top. This isn't the best UFO I've designed but it has turned out really well. The last that was this completed was MUCH but it was never completed due to a sudden map change.
You can see from this angle that there is a deck section recessed into the side of the UFO all the way around. This is looking down onto the central hub with canals surrounding it.
I really love the central hub of this base. It makes me smile every time I return to it. It was the first part of the base to be constructed. There is a moonpool of sorts under the flier landing platform for smaller sea mounts. I wanted this base to allow smaller water mounts to be able to swim into and around the base.
The sections next to the central canal that are raise are passages to the upper water entrances. From left and right you can see the bridge that extends from the mainland to carno island.
The carno island entrance way is still incomplete. This is a good shot of the underside of the UFO looking from the front entrance through the base to carno island. In my previous designs I went with just metal and glass. This time I decided to try with stone for a greater contrast and less glare.
As you can see this is a large structure. It had to be of a certain size in order to space the 'engines' far enough apart to give the look the right balance.
The outer part of the central canal is sloped so anyone swimming in an amphibious mount can transition out of the water.
On top of the central hub is the Teleporter. You can't see the supports for the UFO but they are in this picture. I decided to support this one with glass and make it invisible.
There are some really nice spots in this new base. This is from the central hub looking outwards to the dino storage outer area.
The central hub is all open air but is enclosed enough that it is giving a house buff!
There are some great contrasting colours between the levels. I'm really pleased with the effect it gives.
This is a pretty standard lily pad landing platform. I've done many like this so those that know my builds will recognise them. This extends over the storage bay for smaller water mounts.
Looking into the storage bay. This is from the landing platform side. You can see the ramp up to the teleporter and bridge access to the right. Each side of the hub has the same formation of vaults. In the middle you can see the entrance to the main waterpen.
Better angle of the waterpen entrance.
Not the clearest shot when under water.
Another murky shot from the waterpen. Note that the behemoth tek gate is in that wall as to the overall depth of this seapen.
Looking up from the bottom of the seapen you can see the canal ways through the base. I love this angle of the build but its a spot most won't see when visiting, There is an underwater pod attached in this shot that shouldn't be there. I placed it to get a good shot of the foundations without the murkiness.
Here is the shot from the underwater pod looking down to the foundations. I have a weird underwater pod structure a little above the floor that houses my lower teleporter. Its a very strange structure as its lots of the pods overlapped.
Here is the seapen entrance from the underwater pod. You can see the canal way windows from here.
I moved the underwater pod down to the bottom of the seapen for a better angle. This is the maze of foundations required for this build. They are substantial and actually extend out from enclosed area even further to support the wharfs and the lower outer walkways.
There is the underwater pod looking up at the bottom of the hub. I wish the water was always this clear it looks great.
Now onto the UFO. This is the very center of the top of the UFO which leads into the teleporter room.
The main internal UFO storage area. As you can see the 'engines' have to show through the floor. I would like to have had them flush but it can't be avoided. It does make for some interest which is good. There are three rooms on the UFO you can see two on either side of this pic.
The UFO rooms are the private quarters of my Tribe. Which for this build is just me. My tribe mates have had RL things to deal with so this has been a solo construction. This is the start of my room. I've not spent much time on it yet as I have been working on the base in general.
Each room as a recessed area of decking that connects to deck that loops the UFO. There is space for a small flier for quick trips in and out.
This is looking down from the outer deck of the UFO. I think I said before there are some really great angles on this base. I'm really loving it :)
This is the deck looking back into my room. It is bare at the moment as I have yet to do any vanity projects on this server.
This is the upper bedroom area I have just added. The other rooms have not had anything added so that anyone joining me can decorate them as they wish.
The flier storage is substantial so each tribe member could have space without much hassle.
Another shot from the outer UFO deck. This one looking down on to the hubs landing platform above the small water mount storage.
Another shot from the UFO outer deck this time looking towards the front entrance.
This shot was me hanging by grapple just under the UFO. I was trying to give a good look at the water storage area and canals. They are fairly deep to allow players to over take under or over others.
A shot looking across this base. I really like this shot! You can see down into the canal which has windows into the main seapen. When I next sit down to take some screenshots I will show some of travelling through the canals to give a feel as to what it is like.
